Practicing Stories

This is our digital deck of Practicing Stories cards

Each card will help exercise your story-telling muscles. Choose a card, read it, then do what it says. It’s just that easy.

Find a picture that you’re grateful for.

Tell the story of what was going on, out loud to yourself or to someone else.

Ask someone what’s happened lately that they were excited about.

Write down the story of a time you decided to follow Jesus.

Write a note each day this week to someone about a time you saw God working through them.

Think of someone that has been bugging you.

Imagine their story as God sees it.

Ask someone what they believe about God.

(Don’t argue. You can follow up with, “That’s interesting; tell me more about…”

Choose a Bible character.

Wikipedia them and learn something new.

Ask someone to tell you about when they were a kid.

Resurrection is crucial to our faith: what is one “dead” situation in your life and what might new life be like?

Think about today, starting with waking up.

Where all has God been active?

Choose a Bible story.

Read it, then tell it in your own words. Try to tell it as it would happen today.
